SPARK

Small Pack Aerial Response Kit

The Airborne Systems SPARK system provides Search & Rescue personnel the ability to safely air drop  a first response packet to survivors awaiting rescue.  Hand-launched from small aircraft, the system provides basic necessities such as drinking water, radio, first aid, etc. for survivors. Individual SPARK systems provide supplies to last 48 hours for 3 people, or 24 hours for 6 people.

The survival kit is enclosed in a visible package attached to a highly visible streamer, which unfurls during descent. To further aid survivors in quickly locating and retrieving the kit, the system activates a strobe light and audio alarm during deployment.

SMALL - SPARK deployed

ENABLE COMMUNICATIONS WHILE PROVIDING 48 HOURS OF RELIEF

  • Deploy easily with no static line or D-bag to worry about.  Simply hand-launch the kit upon approaching the target location.
  • Delayed streamer deployment allows for the safe clearance of the packet from the aircraft.
  • The strobe and alarm help survivors locate the survival kit; it also assists SAR personnel locate the survivors.
  • The streamer will detach from the rescue kit, if it is deployed into a wooded area or the streamer encounters other snag hazards, allowing the kit to fall to the ground.
  • Store the detachable, vacuum-sealed survival kit inside of SPARK up to 5 years without maintenance, even under adverse conditions. This eliminates the need for yearly inspection and repacking of the kit contents.
  • Supply basic needs with the survival kit containing an FRS radio, food, water, canteen, water purification tablets, first aid kit, fire starter, flashlight, insect repellent, whistle, knife, 100 ft of cord and survival blankets.
  • Modify the survival kit to meet specific customer requirements.
