Parachute Servicing
Maintaining Readiness
To maintain a high level of effectiveness and readiness to carry out sustained military operations and realistic training exercises, Airborne Forces must have an accessible and continuously available supply of serviceable parachutes and related equipment. The key resource for such a capability is a parachute servicing facility.

Airborne Systems provides a consultancy and management service on the establishment and operation of parachute servicing facilities for Airborne Forces. This service includes:
- Training personnel in parachute packing, maintenance and repair
- Setting-up and commissioning parachute servicing facilities in-country
- Contractual responsibility for the management and operation of servicing facilities
Airborne Systems operations benefit from a computerized inventory management system, which has been developed and improved over the last 20 years. This proven automated system records all historical data of repairs and maintenance work carried out for each individual component or parts, by serial number or equipment type. It also provides real time inventory status reports of all equipment, enabling effective asset management.
Under contract to the United Kingdom's Ministry of Defence since 1991, Airborne Systems has operated a specialized outsourced service facility, the Airborne Forces Parachute Support Unit (AFPSU), which packs, maintains and repairs all of the troop and supply-dropping parachutes and related equipment currently in use by UK Airborne Forces.
