Airborne Systems

The MGP program was selected by the JPL led Mars Technology Program. ASNA designed the parachute system and worked in conjunction with our sister company HDT/Vertigo Inc. to develop the control algorithms. The program culminated in one open-loop and two closed-loop high altitude flight tests in Tillamook, Oregon. These tests were very successful and demonstrated that parachute guidance was indeed possible in Mars equivalent environments. The program also used a 10 meter ringsail parachute.
