Emergency Parachute Systems

Airborne Systems continues its history of preserving the life of aircrew with the design and manufacture of a series of emergency escape parachutes. On rotary or light, fixed-wing aircraft these systems enable bailout in the event of an emergency at altitudes up to 12,000 ft AMSL. These systems were designed for aircraft such as the Sea King ASaC7 Helicopter, training aircraft Firefly T67 and Tutor T Mark 1, and gliders Vigilant T1 and Viking T1.

Airborne Systems military emergency parachute assemblies benefit from the utilization of high-performance parachute canopies, similar to those used in ejection seat systems and ergonomic harnesses that fit a large spectrum of aircrew sizes. The packs are slim enough to provide comfort while permitting ready egress from the aircraft in an emergency via its canopy, door or side window.

These emergency parachute assemblies are designed to be compatible with other aircrew equipment such as life preservers, restraint harnesses, and Personal Survival Packs (PSP).

SMALL - Canopy H112

ENGINEERED TO SAVE LIVES

  • Initiate the parachute automatically with an optional Electronic Static Line (ESL) device fitted with an electronic timer. Pyrotechnic cutters deploy the pilot chute at a pre-determined altitude or after a set period of time.
  • Bailout over water is made safer through the integration of water pockets in the canopy promoting the rapid collapse of the parachute and preventing the user from being dragged in the water.
  • Steer towards the safest landing spot thanks to net panels connected to steering toggles at the rear of the canopy, which provide nominal forward speed and rotation.
  • Provide a correct and comfortable fit for all user sizes with a fire retardant, three-point, split-saddle closure harness including canopy releases.
