AIRBORNE SYSTEMS EUROPE
Airborne Systems Ltd, based at Llangeinor in the UK, specialises in the manufacture of parachutes and other aerial delivery equipment for customers including the UK Ministry of Defence. The Company has a strong heritage in the parachute industry having been at the forefront of parachute design for more than 75 years and we pride ourselves on our ability to meet our customer’s most demanding operational requirements.
The Company offers a comprehensive range of equipment from its manufacturing base in S. Wales, serving the needs of the defence, safety and survival industries.
The Metals division manufactures aerial delivery equipment including large fabrications used for the aerial delivery of boats, military equipment and other supplies, including humanitarian aid. It also produces most of the metal work for Airborne Systems (parachute fittings etc.) as well as precision-machined components for the aerospace industry.
Aside from its manufacturing capability, Airborne Systems Europe offers a comprehensive product support service, including its Airborne Forces Parachute Services Unit (AFPSU) based in Letchworth, Hertfordshire. This facility supports parachute servicing and inventory management for the UK MoD.
The Company now employs more than 350 permanent employees across its sites and annual turnover has grown steadily since 2006 to exceed £30 million.
The Company achieved the prestigious "Investors in People" award in December 2008 and is listed as one of the top 100 Companies in Wales.
Since 2006, significant investment has been made by the Company to develop the skills of its workforce. The “Airborne Systems Training Academy” was launched in November 2010 to provide technical skills, IT and leadership and development skills through the workforce.
